His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdel Aziz Al-Mukhaizim, chaired the first meeting of the Supreme Committee for Energy in the State of Kuwait, which was formed under Ministerial Resolution No. (35) for the year 2025.

The committee includes representatives from a number of government agencies and relevant state institutions, including the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait Foundation for Scientific Progress, Public Corporation for Housing Welfare, and the Ministry of Finance, in addition to the Public-Private Partnership Authority of Kuwait.

This meeting affirms the importance of coordination and integration between the concerned authorities to update the state's strategy in the field of energy security and its sustainability, and to explore future opportunities that contribute to achieving a shift towards more efficient and sustainable energy sources.

The meeting witnessed a presentation of the work of the technical committees emanating from the Supreme Energy Committee in its previous sessions, in addition to reviewing the National Energy Transformation Document for the year 2024, prepared by the Kuwait Foundation for Scientific Progress, which is considered a major reference for developing the energy sector in the country.

In his speech during the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Subaih Al-Makhaizim stressed the importance of expediting the implementation of plans and initiatives to enhance energy sustainability and shift towards clean sources, in line with Kuwait's international obligations to achieve carbon neutrality.
