The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatimah Abbas Jawhar Hayat, stated that on Friday, 3 April 2026, one of the power generation and water desalination plants was subjected to an attack by Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait, resulting in material damage to some of the plant’s components.

She added that technical and emergency response teams immediately initiated their operations in accordance with the approved emergency plans to address the repercussions of the incident and maintain operational efficiency, while full coordination was carried out with the relevant security authorities and associated entities to secure the affected sites.

She urged the public to remain calm, refrain from circulating rumors, and rely solely on official sources for information, while emphasizing the Ministry’s commitment to providing transparent updates on all developments.

She further stressed that the safety and stability of the electricity and water systems remain a top priority, and that all technical teams are working around the clock with high efficiency in preparation for any emergency situation and to ensure the continuity of essential services.
