Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, received H.E. Christian Dooms, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the State of Kuwait.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, water, and sustainable infrastructure, and followed up on discussions held during the visit of the Belgian economic mission to Kuwait in April 2025.

The meeting also explored opportunities to draw on Belgian expertise in both the public and private sectors and to identify the Ministry’s priority areas and projects to which such expertise could contribute, thereby supporting technical cooperation between the two sides.

The two sides also reviewed the latest developments in the preparation of a framework Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the governments of the two countries, ahead of the Belgian Foreign Minister’s anticipated visit in November. They also discussed the possibility of including the energy, water, and sustainable infrastructure sectors among the MoU’s main areas of focus.
