A technical meeting was held this morning between the State of Kuwait—represented by the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy—and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss the latest developments regarding the water interconnection project between the two countries. The meeting took place as part of the agenda for a scheduled technical meeting and visit on September 29 and 30.

The meeting reviewed the latest updates on the water interconnection project, examining the relevant technical and operational requirements and aspects, as well as gaining insight into Kuwait’s water network control, operation, and management system.

Key topics covered during the meeting included:

The first day's program included a visit to the control room at the National Water Control Center to observe monitoring, control, and operational mechanisms, thereby supporting technical discussions and enhancing the exchange of expertise and coordination between both sides regarding the project.

This meeting comes as part of ongoing technical coordination between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on the water interconnection project, following up on relevant technical and operational aspects to pave the way for completing the upcoming stages of the project as agreed upon by both sides.
