His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil, conducted an inspection visit to the site of the accident that occurred today at one of the power and water desalination stations, in order to review the progress of the response work and follow up on the technical procedures taken to deal with the accident.

They were briefed on the efforts made by the Ministry’s emergency teams, in coordination with the General Fire Force and security authorities, which, thanks to God, resulted in the complete control and extinguishing of the fire, after a firefighting operation that lasted six hours, while the technical teams continue to assess the damage and begin rehabilitation work.

His Excellency the Minister praised the great efforts made by the emergency and firefighting teams and the engineering and technical staff, appreciating the speed of response and the efficiency of dealing with the incident, and stressing the continuation of work until the completion of the repair work and the return of the damaged units to service in accordance with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
