29-07-2026 The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Delivers an Awareness Lecture at Kuwait Airways Entitled “Towards Sustainability… Waffir.”

As part of the national “Waffir” campaign to promote energy and water conservation, raise awareness of the importance of rational electricity and water consumption, and reinforce sustainability concepts, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, represented by its Media and Conservation Awareness Team, delivered an awareness lecture at Kuwait Airways. The event was attended by Eng. Salem Al-Ajmi, Assistant Undersecretary for Customer Services at the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy; Eng. Falah Al-Mutairi, the Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Ibrahim Al-Shehab, Executive Vice President of the Corporation; Mr. Waleed Al-Wakeel, Assistant General Manager for Employee Services at Kuwait Airways; in addition to a number of executives and employees from both entities.

The lecture highlighted key daily practices that contribute to reducing electricity and water consumption, emphasizing the importance of the optimal use of resources and the role of individuals in supporting their sustainability. It also showcased best practices that can be implemented in workplaces and homes to improve consumption efficiency.

The Ministry’s “Waffir” Team also presented the objectives of the national campaign and the Ministry’s efforts to enhance public awareness of the importance of conservation through awareness programmes and initiatives, as well as by strengthening partnerships with government entities and institutions across both the public and private sectors, thereby fostering a culture of responsible consumption and supporting the sustainability of national resources.

During the lecture, the team emphasized that rational electricity and water consumption is a shared responsibility and that adherence to sound conservation practices contributes to preserving resources, supporting the stability and reliability of the electricity network, and ensuring the optimal utilization of energy and water resources.

At the conclusion of the lecture, the Ministry was honoured by Kuwait Airways officials in recognition of its efforts to promote a culture of rational electricity and water consumption and to strengthen community awareness.
