Under the patronage and presence of His Excellency the Governor of Al-Ahmadi, Al-Sheikh Hammoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Adel Mohamed Al-Zamil, along with a number of leaders from the ministry, in cooperation and coordination with Al-Ahmadi Governorate, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, and Kuwait Oil Company, the symposium titled "Towards Sustainability" was held in a tent belonging to Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) in Al- Ahmadi City.
During his speech, His Excellency the Governor of Al-Ahmadi, Sheikh Hammoud confirmed that, based on the principle of cooperation between state authorities and to fulfill our societal role in raising awareness by rationalizing the consumption of electricity and water, we aim for sustainability in our natural resources, especially in light of the accelerated environmental and economic challenges the world is witnessing. His Excellency the Governor confirmed that the State of Kuwait, under its wise leadership and strategic vision, seeks a steady pace toward a more sustainable future, taking into account the environmental, economic, and social dimensions. Rationalizing the consumption of electricity and water is no longer just an option; it is a national duty and an urgent necessity to ensure the sustainability of resources for future generations.
His Excellency stressed that achieving sustainability in our natural resources is not only achieved through modern technologies or engineering solutions, but starts from our daily behaviors and by adopting a lifestyle that respects the environment and conserves energy. We must all have a high degree of awareness and responsibility to support the government in this endeavor. He concluded by saying: "We urge everyone to practice rationalizing energy consumption to contribute to achieving our national goals of reaching environmental and economic sustainability." He thanked the Ministry of Electricity and Water, Renewable Energy, and Kuwait Oil Company, as well as those responsible for organizing the event, wishing success to all initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and promoting a culture of energy consumption rationalization in society.
For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Adel Al-Zamil, stated that the challenges we face today, primarily climate change and the rising demand for energy and water, require all of us to take a serious pause. There is an urgent need for sincere cooperation to cement the principles of competence in consumption and optimal investment in renewable energy sources to ensure the sustainability of our resources for future generations.
Al-Zamil added: "Through this symposium, we look forward to exchanging experiences and presenting scientific and practical visions, stressing that the Ministry is committed to implementing its ambitious strategies in the fields of rationalization and renewable energy, thanks to the support of our wise leadership and the solidarity of our partners in various sectors."
