The spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jowhar Hayat, announced that the State of Kuwait will host the Gulf Electricity Conference and Exhibition (GCC Power 2025), organized by the Regional Committee for Electrical Power Systems in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC CIGRE), in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, during the period from November 10 to 12, under the generous patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of Finance, and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment (Acting), Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem.
Engineer Hayat explained that hosting this prominent regional event confirms Kuwait's leading position in the fields of electricity and renewable energy in the region and embodies its vision of supporting the energy transition and green economy, in addition to strengthening joint Gulf cooperation in the fields of new and renewable energy.
She pointed out that the conference is considered one of the most prominent Gulf events specializing in the electricity and new and renewable energy sector, as it brings together a group of experts, researchers, and specialists from various GCC countries to discuss the latest technical and scientific developments and review successful experiences in the fields of electricity production, transmission, and distribution. She added that the main themes of the conference include:
1. Operating and adjusting electrical operating systems.
2. Development of electrical networks and system economics.
3. Electricity markets and regional operation.
4. Distribution systems and smart solutions.
5. Electrical substations and high-voltage equipment.
6. Protection, automation, and integrated network control.
7. Transformers, transmission lines, and cables.
8. HVDC and FACTS technologies in interconnection networks.
9. Renewable and nuclear energy in the GCC countries.
10. Smart grids and digital transformation in the electricity sector.
11. Energy systems asset management and operational efficiency.
The spokesperson concluded her statement by emphasizing that the conference represents a reliable Gulf platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge, developing electrical energy infrastructure, and promoting innovation and sustainability in this vital sector. It also provides an important opportunity to showcase Kuwait's experiences in the areas of rationalization and efficiency of electrical energy and digital transformation, thereby strengthening its regional position within the Gulf joint action system.
