02-10-2025 Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of Finance, and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment (Acting), Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, discussed with the French ambassador ways of cooperation in energy and water projects.

His Excellency Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy and Minister of Finance, received His Excellency Olivier Gouvain, Ambassador of the French Republic to the State of Kuwait, on Wednesday morning.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were reviewed, particularly in the areas of investment, infrastructure, and energy. The ambassador emphasized French companies' interest in expanding their participation in the Kuwaiti market, pointing out his country's expertise in renewable energy, waste-to-energy conversion, and water treatment.

For his part, His Excellency the Minister reviewed a number of major projects that Kuwait is working on, such as the Shagaya Renewable Energy Project and the Nuwaiseeb Project, emphasizing the state's openness to foreign investment and the provision of facilities and benefits to investors through the public-private partnership system.

The two sides also discussed the development of the electricity grid and ways to enhance energy security in the region, the importance of electricity and water interconnections with neighboring countries, as well as Kuwait's plans in the field of water treatment and servicing new cities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the depth of Kuwaiti-French relations and their keenness to continue strengthening joint cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of the two friendly countries.
