The Ministry of Interior announced that, since Wednesday, 8 April 2026, several vital facilities belonging to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy had been subjected to a series of intensive attacks and hostile Iranian assaults using enemy drones.

The attacks targeted several sites, including oil refineries and three power generation and water desalination plants, resulting in significant material damage to infrastructure facilities, power generation units, refineries, and fuel storage tanks. Several fires also broke out at some locations.

The Ministry confirmed that all necessary precautionary measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of personnel and secure the affected sites, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
