His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil, met with the team participating in the 2026 Korea AI in Action Program, organized by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences in cooperation with Korea University. The meeting was to review the team's project related to employing artificial intelligence technologies in the field of smart meters.
The team included Nouber Saad Al-Rashidi, Ghaliya Fahad Al-Mukhaizeem, Fawzan Dawood Al-Fahad, and Jarrah Fahad Al-Mulaifi.
The trainees drew inspiration for their project from the national campaign to save energy and water, "Safeer," and its objectives and messages aimed at promoting a culture of conservation and increasing the efficiency of resource consumption. The team worked on translating these objectives into an innovative technology based on artificial intelligence and smart meter data, which supports conservation efforts and promotes optimal energy use
During the meeting, the Minister listened to an explanation of the project's concept and the mechanism for utilizing data provided by smart meters. He also discussed employing artificial intelligence technologies to analyze electricity consumption patterns, contributing to enhanced efficiency and supporting conservation efforts, as well as developing innovative solutions to maximize the benefits of the smart meter system.
His Excellency Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives and projects that utilize modern technologies and artificial intelligence to find practical solutions to the challenges related to the electricity and energy sector. He commended the team's efforts and their focus on developing a project linked to one of the Ministry's most important digital transformation projects.
His Excellency also affirmed the Ministry's commitment to encouraging national talent and leveraging innovative ideas and projects that support the Ministry's plans in the areas of digital transformation, energy efficiency, and conservation, in line with the country's directions towards sustainability and innovation.
