Statement by the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, regarding the activation of the Ministry’s comprehensive emergency plan, in response to regional developments.

Engineer Fatima Hayat confirmed that the ministry, based on higher directives, immediately began implementing the emergency plan procedures, and all emergency teams were instructed to signal and be present at their designated locations within the plan to ensure rapid intervention and immediate handling of any emergency.

She explained that the operational conditions of the electricity and water systems are normal and stable, and that electricity and water production rates are proceeding within their usual levels without any significant impact, stressing the continued provision of the service with high efficiency and reliability.

She also noted that routine non-emergency maintenance work has been temporarily suspended in order to enhance operational readiness and raise the level of preparedness in anticipation of any developments, and to ensure the continuity of service without interruption.

She indicated that this situation requires the highest levels of readiness around the clock, stressing her confidence in the efficiency of the ministry’s employees, and emphasizing that these measures are precautionary and necessary in light of the delicate circumstances the region is going through.

The Ministry urges its customers, citizens and residents, to obtain information related to electricity and water matters from the Ministry’s official accounts on social media, and to ignore any rumors or news from unknown sources.
