29-05-2025 Kuwait is participating in the international ceremony to sign a charter. Countries are joining the World Water Organization and inaugurating its work in Riyadh.

Within the framework of the State of Kuwait's support for international efforts to address water issues and enhance their sustainability, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy participated in the international ceremony to sign the charter of joining the countries to the global organization of Water. The organization’s inauguration took place in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and President of the Cabinet in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In attendance were His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a wide range of international representatives from governments, organizations, and concerned institutions.

The delegation of the State of Kuwait was chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Electricity and Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdel Aziz Al-Mukhizim, who confirmed in his speech during the important dialogue session the significance of maintaining water as a basic resource for life and a pivotal component in achieving security, environmental sustainability, and development. He stated that the challenges facing the water sector in the next stage, from resource scarcity and climate change to increasing demand and deteriorating infrastructure, require a collective will and innovative solutions that exceed traditional models. He expressed his hope that the World Water Organization will contribute to unifying international efforts, stimulating investment, enhancing innovation, and fostering cross-border cooperation to build a sustainable and equitable water future for everyone, and that the organization will become a universal reference for water policy and a collaborative platform for governments, civil society, the private sector, experts, and researchers to support the construction of early responses to water crises.

His Excellency also expressed sincere thanks and appreciation from the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the honorable King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince, for this pioneering initiative that embodies a strategic commitment to water and sustainable development issues at regional and international levels.

The participating Kuwaiti delegation included His Excellency the Deputy Minister, Dr. Adel Muhammad Al-Zamil, the Assistant Deputy for Operations and Maintenance of Water, Eng. Fahd Assi Al Dhafiri, and the Director of Water Facilities Management, Eng. Maha Yousef Al-Hajri.
