The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Eng. Fatima Abbas Jowhar Hayat, announced the completion of repair works on a number of power transmission lines that were damaged due to falling debris. This comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to maintain the stability of the power grid and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers.
Hayat explained that repairs have been completed on most of the affected transmission lines, with five out of nine lines now fully restored and back in service. All repairs were carried out in accordance with the highest approved technical standards and safety and security procedures, following comprehensive technical inspections and evaluations.
She added that all repair and securing operations were executed efficiently under the approved emergency plan, alongside continued field monitoring and technical inspections to verify the safety of electrical system components, enhance operational readiness, and improve reliability across various regions.
The spokesperson commended the dedicated efforts of the national workforce, including engineers, technicians, and field personnel, who worked diligently throughout this period with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment.
She affirmed that the power grid remains stable and is operating efficiently, and that the Ministry continues to uphold the highest standards of quality and safety to ensure the sustainability and security of the country’s energy supply.
