The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy’s enforcement team issued a fine for the wasteful use of fresh water at a restaurant in Al-Ahmadi Governorate, where a hose was used to waste large quantities of water cleaning the restaurant’s forecourt in a manner that constituted clear extravagance; it was found that the cleaning work did not require the use of such large quantities of water.
The Ministry emphasized that water is a national resource and the lifeblood of society, which necessitates its consumption in moderation and in accordance with actual needs.
The Ministry called on business owners and all customers to adhere to sensible water usage practices and avoid any practices that lead to wastage, emphasizing that it will continue its monitoring campaigns and take legal action against offenders.
