The official speaker for the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, announced the completion of repairs to two additional overhead power lines that were damaged on Thursday, March 12, 2026, along with several other lines, due to falling debris. This is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability of the electrical grid and ensure a continuous power supply for customers.
She explained that specialized technical teams were able to restore five of the six damaged overhead lines to service, adhering to the highest technical standards and approved safety and security procedures.
She added that the repair work was carried out with high efficiency within the framework of the approved emergency plan. On-site monitoring and necessary technical inspections are ongoing to ensure the integrity of the electrical grid components, enhance its readiness, and increase reliability across the country.
Hayat commended the significant efforts of the national workforce of engineers, technicians, and field workers, who continue to work around the clock with a high sense of national responsibility. She emphasized that the electrical grid is stable and operating efficiently, and that the Ministry remains committed to its role in ensuring energy security and sustainability in the State of Kuwait.
