His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, conducted an inspection visit today to the Subiya Power and Water Desalination Plant, accompanied by the Minister of Electricity,

Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil.

His Highness listened to a briefing from officials on the operational mechanisms of the generating units in the plant's main building and the measures and plans adopted to ensure the continuity of electricity production to meet the country's needs and maintain the stability of the service system.

His Highness also inspected the fuel storage area, which sustained limited damage as a result of a deliberate attack. Officials explained to His Highness that they had begun the necessary maintenance work and procured the required spare parts in preparation for resuming operations.

His Highness also visited the plant's emergency shelter, receiving a briefing from officials on the shelter's operational procedures in emergency situations, the available resources, the safety system, and the logistical and service preparations for exceptional circumstances.

His Highness the Prime Minister praised the efforts of the employees of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the dedication of its staff in working during the current circumstances to ensure the stability of the network and secure the country’s needs, stressing the government’s full support for all measures taken to maintain the sustainability of vital services.
