The official speaker for the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, announced the resumption of periodic maintenance work on secondary substations across the country's governorates. This is part of the approved plan to enhance the efficiency of the electrical grid and ensure service continuity.
She explained that the maintenance work will begin on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, as the Ministry is committed to raising the technical readiness of the electrical grid's components and minimizing unexpected outages, especially in preparation for the summer season and the accompanying increase in electricity demand. She emphasized that this work is being carried out according to the highest technical standards and safety procedures.
She added that the Ministry is keen to notify customers in the areas covered by the maintenance schedules in advance. Notifications will be sent via the government's "Sahel" application, and customers will also be able to view the maintenance schedule through a link available on the Ministry's official social media accounts.
She affirmed that the maintenance work is being carried out according to carefully planned schedules to minimize disruption to customers, thus contributing to the stability of the electrical system.
The spokesperson expressed her appreciation for the cooperation and understanding shown by citizens and residents during the maintenance program.
