The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatimah Abbas Jawhar Hayat, announced that seven (7) overhead power transmission lines had gone out of service in several areas across the country. The outage resulted from damage caused to transmission towers during ongoing defense exercises conducted by the Air Force, leading to partial power disruptions in certain areas. Efforts are currently underway to restore electricity service as quickly as possible.
She explained that the specialized technical teams immediately began securing the affected sites in coordination with the relevant security authorities in order to assess the damage and initiate repairs to the affected lines, in accordance with the highest safety and security standards. She affirmed that emergency response teams are operating around the clock to address any emergency affecting the electrical network and ensure service continuity.
Hayat also urged citizens and residents to exercise accuracy and obtain information exclusively from official sources, while continuing to provide updates on any developments through official channels. She concluded by expressing her sincere wishes for Kuwait and its people to remain protected from all harm and for the nation to continue enjoying security, safety, and stability.
