24-03-2026 Official Statement No. (15) issued by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy regarding the reinstatement of certain overhead power transmission lines into service.

The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatimah Abbas Jawhar Hayat, announced the completion of repair works on several power transmission lines that were damaged as a result of a tower collapse earlier today, Tuesday, 24 March 2026. This comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to maintain the stability of the electrical grid and ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers.

She explained that most of the affected overhead transmission lines have been repaired, with four (4) out of seven (7) lines successfully restored to service, in accordance with approved technical standards and safety procedures, following the completion of inspection, testing, and technical evaluation processes.

She further stated that all repair and securing operations were carried out efficiently and effectively in line with the approved emergency response plan, while field monitoring and the necessary technical inspections continue to ensure the integrity of the power network components and strengthen their operational readiness across various regions.

She also confirmed that technical teams are continuing to work around the clock to complete the repair of the remaining damaged lines and restore them to service as quickly as possible, in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety.

The official spokesperson commended the significant efforts exerted by the national workforce, including engineers, technicians, and field personnel working on-site, who have demonstrated a strong sense of national responsibility through their continuous efforts. She affirmed that the electrical system remains stable and operating efficiently, and that the Ministry remains fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety in order to preserve the security and sustainability of energy supply in the country.
