The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil, oversaw the final touches to the repair work on the last of the overhead power transmission lines damaged by the Iranian aggression. During a field visit, accompanied by the Director of the Overhead and Underground Cable Maintenance Department, Engineer Athari Al-Mohammed, and several specialists, he reviewed the progress of the repairs to ensure their completion according to the highest technical standards.
In a speech to the workers at the repair site, the Undersecretary conveyed the appreciation of the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, for their efforts in maintaining the stability of the electrical grid.
He confirmed that the technical teams began their work immediately after the damaged lines went out of service, and that the repair of the last of these lines has been completed. He also noted that work continues on repairing some of the associated facilities.
Regarding the recent incident at a service building in one of the power stations, which resulted in the death of an Indian worker, Dr. Adel Al-Zamil confirmed that the incident did not affect production operations at the station. He expressed his regret for the loss of innocent lives due to this heinous attack and offered his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
He noted that emergency teams immediately began their work according to the approved emergency plans to address the aftermath of the incident, while ensuring continued operational efficiency and coordinating fully with relevant authorities to secure the affected site.
The Undersecretary added that the recent events and attacks targeting infrastructure sites, including some Ministry facilities, have had a direct impact on routine maintenance programs in preparation for the summer season. He emphasized the ongoing coordination with partners and international manufacturers to complete maintenance work and overcome any obstacles before the season begins.
Dr. Adel Al-Zamel noted that these developments demonstrated the immense responsibility placed on the Ministry to ensure the continuous delivery of electricity and water services to all customers around the clock. He also commended the efforts of employees across all sectors of the Ministry, whose work reflects a strong sense of responsibility and national duty to serve Kuwait.
