28-01-2024 The visit of His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Salem Falah Al-Hajraf, to the Shuaiba station and Al-Zour South station for generating electric power and distilling water.

As part of the inspection and exploratory tours carried out by His Excellency the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Dr. Salem Falah Al-Hajraf, this morning he visited the Shuaiba and Al-Zour South stations for generating electric power and distilling water.

The Minister was accompanied by the Assistant Undersecretary for Electrical Power and Water Distillation Stations, Eng. Muhammad Khazaal Al-Enezi, where a meeting was held with managers, supervisors and engineers at the Al-Shabia and Al-Zour South stations in order to follow up on the maintenance work and preparations they are making in preparation for the 2024 summer season.

Minister Al-Hajraf delivered a speech in which he thanked all workers in the electric power and water distillation stations sector for their efforts to secure electricity and water for everyone who lives in Kuwait.

He also indicated that he welcomes any suggestions or comments that would contribute to overcoming the challenges and developing and advancing the work.

In turn, the station managers gave a brief presentation on the various technologies used in the Shuaiba and Al-Zour South stations, as the production capacity of the Shuaiba station is 1,420 megawatts for electricity and 75 million imperial gallons per day for water, while the production capacity of the Al-Zour South station is 5,560 megawatts for electricity and 140 million imperial gallons per day for water. Al-Zour station is considered the connection point for the national electrical grid with the Gulf electrical interconnection system.

His Excellency Minister Al-Hajraf was briefed on the progress of work at the Al-Shabia and Al-Zour South stations, and praised the national role played by the nation’s youth and their dedication to performing their duties to the fullest extent. He urged them to continue giving the best knowledge and skills they possess, developing technical capabilities, and constantly learning about the latest global technologies in The field of energy and water.
